Wordless Wednesday: Ali Underwater

2

March 25, 2015 by Melissa Ray

Watching a friend training hard for a title fight this week made me think of the timeless quote by Muhammad Ali, which any fighter having to dig deep in the gym would do well to remember:

I hated every minute of training, but I said, “Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.”

The quote went on to remind me of the famous “Ali Underwater” photograph, captured by photojournalist Flip Schulke in 1961—surely one of the most iconic images of a boxer of all time.
